Thank you so much Dad for everything you have done to help me. I love you so much! Say Hi to Cedar, Sammy and Rudy too.
Thanks again and I love you,
Z
Zachary Vichich was diagnosed with a kidney disease called Idiopathic Membranous Nephropathy in 2006. The only way to put the disease in remission is to undergo harsh chemotherapy/immunosuppresant treatments. Zac has been through four rounds of immunosuppresant/ chemotherapy treatments. Both the treatments as well as the disease itself cause severe side effects that make daily activities difficult, so Zac cannot work. His insurance benefits were abruptly stopped, so he is currrently appealing the insurance company's decision.
Recently, Zachary's disease has progressed due to his immunosupressant therapy not working. He is now undergoing a new treatment of harsh chemotherapy infusions. These infusions are done once a week and take around 6-7 hours. They are very hard on him with many side-effects and are very expensive. After his first infusion, Zachary got a blood clot in his arm in which he recieved his infusion. He now must be on blood thinners on top of all his other medications. This is an extremely hard time in his life; please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. A donation benefit fund has been set up to help Zac pay for his expensive medications, medical bills, and living expenses during this tough time in his life. His appeal with his insurance company is still in progress.
